Jae Strickland Named Academic Dean at TEL Library

OKLAHOMA CITY, February 21, 2019 — TEL Library is proud to announce Jae Strickland, Ph.D., as the organization’s new Academic Dean. Strickland will be responsible for managing institutional relationships for course-credit transcripting, course articulation, and pathway programs. She will also oversee TEL’s curriculum review and alignment for all markets.

“Jae is a dynamic educator with a proven history of forging strong relationships,” said Rob Reynolds, Executive Director of TEL. “Her background and experience will be instrumental in TEL’s success.”

Jae received her Ph.D. in Educational Leadership / Higher Education from the University of Nebraska, where her studies focused on Educational Administration and Supervision. She previously served as an elementary principal, instructional coach, and public school teacher. While serving as an urban Oklahoma City principal, she implemented new programs such as Reading Buddies with the United Way of Central Oklahoma and the City of Oklahoma City, student athletics in partnership with the Police Athletic League, Gifted and Talented Education, and assisted in forming the Hayes Neighborhood Association.

Most recently, Jae served as the Head of Learning Design for NextThought, LLC, located in Norman, Oklahoma. Among other projects, Jae led Code Sooner, a University of Oklahoma initiative that equips teachers with the necessary training and tools to provide computer science education to all students. As a strategic partner with the Oklahoma State Department of Education, Jae assisted in the creation and implementation of OK Edge, a statewide professional development site for Oklahoma educators, students, families, and community members.
