We are looking for adjunct faculty who want to work with us to support learning comprehension and an understanding of the subject area as well as foster student engagement in the learning process. We strive with our faculty to provide students with opportunities for professional and intellectual development, as well as personal growth and success in learning.

Adjunct Faculty Role

  • Provide synchronous and asynchronous instructional support to students
    • Support student learning through rubric-based evaluation, providing thorough feedback that encourages student improvement and highlights student achievement
    • Provide engagement opportunities through scheduled video conferences and recorded video sessions
    • Share subject-matter expertise that creates connections between course content, critical thinking skills, and the broader curriculum
  • Collaborate with the TEL Instructional Team to:
    • Support student success in courses through progress monitoring and weekly evaluations.
    • Identify student needs and intervention strategies.
    • Review and support teaching assistants in providing effective feedback to students.
    • Provide adaptable solutions to a diverse student population.

This position reports to the Chief Academic Officer.

Adjunct Faculty Requirements

Requirements for Hiring

  • Masters Degree in Chinese or 18 hours graduate credit in Chinese
  • A minimum of two years of experience as an instructor or teacher
  • A minimum of one-year experience teaching digitally-supported or fully online courses
  • Speaks English (required)
  • Authorized to work in the U.S. (required)
  • Adjunct Faculty Training
  • All new faculty teaching online are required to successfully complete onboarding and FERPA training as a condition of hire.

Instructional Staff

Communication - Instructional Staff

Description and Responsibilities

TEL is looking for a domain specialist (Instructional Staff) to evaluate, assign a grade, and provide feedback for rubric-based, complex written assignments in our online courses. Instructional Staff must have a Bachelor’s degree in the subject area to qualify. We provide rubrics and training on how to give feedback. Assignments should take no longer than 10 – 20 minutes to grade. You will report to our Instructional Specialist and have an overseeing Instructor-of-Record to check your subject expertise and help provide you with professional development. You will be grading for our Introduction to Communication (Public Speaking) courses.

At this time we are unable to hire internationally – we are only able to hire within the United States.
