Introductory Reading and Writing
$225.00
Introductory Reading and Writing is designed for students who need to further develop their capabilities in language use—reading, writing, and thinking—to prepare for future assignments and help them develop proficiency in college-level reading and writing.
This course emphasizes academic reading and writing assignments and will cover fundamental principles of writing while stressing the steps of the writing process. Grammar exercises will supplement writing instruction to provide a review of current usage.
Students will work with reading and writing processes such as previewing the text, organizing text information, identifying main ideas, annotating, summarizing, evaluating information, outlining, writing, editing, and revising. They will study a variety of essay types and complete a final research paper applying their reading, writing, and thinking skills.
