Welcome to the New TEL Learning Website!

by | Jan 22, 2021

At TEL, we are committed to making sure everyone has access to college-level learning. We created a growing catalog of highly engineered, online general education courses. We partner with colleges and universities to offer these courses for college credit at affordable prices.

TEL Learning, the side of TEL that works with individual students such as homeschoolers or independent learners, provides these courses on-demand as well as through a free library. And while we’ve had our TEL Learning site up for more than a year, we’d heard from many users that it could be easier to navigate.

So after much planning, discussion, and a number of emails in reference to the blobs, we are excited to share our new website with you! Here are a few things we hope you check out:

An easy-to-find Free Library:

On the old site, you had to scroll down on the home page to access our Free Library, and it wasn’t well marked. In our new navigation, the Free Library lives in its own tab and is easy to find in the navigation bar. Remember, all of our non-lab courses have a free version with the same great content. The free courses just don’t have the mastery assignments, support structures, or college credit transcripts like the courses on demand.

More information about each course:

We build our courses around clear and researched course objectives. But it’s hard to know what a student will get from a course by reading a description or even scrolling through a list of modules. For each course, we’ve now included the course objectives as well as the kind of work you can expect. We also added some information about our support structures, such as our Student Coaches, so students know they aren’t going at this alone.

An expanded FAQ:

Homeschool families and independent learners have a lot of questions about dual credit options. To help save you a little time, we added some of the most frequently asked questions to our updated FAQ. This will address basic information, such as who TEL is. It will also address some of the pieces of a course, such as the pacing guides and our orientation course. While we are always an email away (see our contact page), scroll through the FAQ and see if there may be an answer to your question in there.

The TEL Learning Blog

While our TEL Education site has a blog, it’s focused on issues affecting the high schools and colleges we work with. We wanted to provide a place where students and parents can get resources on dual credit, online courses, and planning for academic success. We’ll continue to share tips, ideas, and best practices so check back regularly and follow us on Facebook and Instagram.

Let Us Know What You Think

Providing high-quality courses and access to dual credit opportunities is core to our mission and vision. We’re excited that you are on this journey with us. Take a tour of the new site and let us know what you think. Send a note through the contact form and address it to our Marketing Director, Carrie Watkins, with your feedback. We look forward to hearing from you!
